QRead – Privacy Policy

QRead ("we", "our", or "us") is a QR code and barcode scanner application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

QRead is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:

• Camera access: Used solely to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera images are processed on-device and never transmitted to our servers.
• Scan history: Stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to your scan history.
• Device information: Collected by Google AdMob for advertising purposes (see Advertising section below).

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers.
• We do not store your scan history on our servers.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not track your location.

3. Local Storage

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted:

• Scan history
• Favorite scans
• App settings and preferences
• Generated QR codes

4. Advertising

QRead displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data to provide personalized ads, including:

• Advertising ID (Android)
• Device information (model, OS version)
• IP address
• App usage data

You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

5. Camera Permission

QRead requires camera permission to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera access is only active when you are actively using the scanner. No images or video are stored or transmitted.

6. Children's Privacy

QRead does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is rated for Everyone and contains ads appropriate for general audiences.

7. Data Retention

All data stored by QRead is kept locally on your device. You can delete all data at any time through the app's Settings → Clear History / Clear Favorites, or by uninstalling the app.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
